The Ear: Silver III Speaker Cable

“Two further swaps between the two sets of cables and I had heard enough to know that once again Tellurium Q had delivered on their stated intention, to take the good things about the Silver IIs and make them even better…

I know it is still only April, but I think I have just found one of my Products Of The Year: Bravo Geoff, mission accomplished.”

The Ear: Statement RCA Cable

“Switching the original Statements out and installing the Statement IIs I cued up the same record and returned to my listening seat. I had changed no amplifier settings and yet here was Harlan County Line sounding better than I have ever heard it. The delineation between the instruments was more pronounced but not at the expense of coherence, and then the voice was there. Actually it was here, in front of me, just a few feet away. I felt that I was in some Kentucky roadhouse, surrounded by miners and country people, all absolutely silent as Mr Alvin told us his stories. The Statement IIs were the only difference from the first spin of the record, so I had to attribute this added realism and authenticity to them. It had been fascinating to hear the differences in the TQ studio, but if anything it was even more noticeable and impressive in my own home system…

What Geoff Merrigan has achieved with this new version of Statement II is little short of remarkable. He took an already class-leading product and made it even better.”

If you have invested in the MKI version and are now feeling the urge to upgrade my advice would be to do it if you have the financial means…. only audition Statement IIs if you can afford them. You have been warned!”

The Ear: Statement XLR Cable

“Although by no means a newcomer, Tellurium Q’s chief engineer Geoff Merrigan continues to work his magic trick of improving upon that which had previously seemed beyond criticism. The top of the range Statement series of cables has garnered a fistful awards both here in the UK and around the audio world. I was able to compare those original Statement interconnects in both RCA and XLR configurations with the next-generation mkII versions, and was taken aback at the overall improvement in sound quality that I witnessed. More of everything came through the loudspeakers: airier treble, punchier bass of course but above all more of what we are all pursuing in this hobby, pure musical pleasure.”

The Ear: Statement XLR Cable

“What Geoff Merrigan has achieved with this new version of Statement II is little short of remarkable. He took an already class-leading product and made it even better… The next generation of Statement was an audible step up from the mighty impressive original versions, and was most apparent with the XLR terminated versions…

If you have invested in the MkI version and are now feeling the urge to upgrade my advice would be to do it if you have the financial means…. only audition Statement IIs if you can afford them. You have been warned!”

The Ear: Ultra Black II XLR

“I cued up ‘Money’ from Dark Side of the Moonon the LP12 and played it, first with the Mark I and then with the Mark II between the pre and power. The difference was not trivial.

I have no idea what Geoff Merrigan and his team at Tellurium Q have done to these Mark II cables and he is not about share that information with anyone. What I can tell you is that what they bring to a system is addictive and irresistible.”

The Ear: Black RCA Cable

“If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it is clearly not a phrase in Geoff Merrigan’s language library, and we should all be grateful for that. The original Black interconnect was by no means broken, but Geoff set himself the task of improving it and I would say that he has more than achieved his objective.”

The Ear: Ultra Silver II RCA Cable

“I have shied away from silver cables for all my many years in this fascinating, sometimes exasperating audio hobby. Why? Because over the years I was told too often that they were “bright,” or “not suitable for the gear you have”. Finally, I got to hear Geoff Merrigan’s latest iteration of the Ultra Silver range and was completely won over, years of misinformation blown away by the clarity and sheer musicality of these interconnects. Worth every penny in any system capable of making the most of them.”

The Ear: Ultra Silver II RCA Cable

“I cannot think of any single ancillary product that has given my own system such a performance lift. Excellence is a rare commodity in any walk of life – the Ultra Silver II interconnects belong in that exclusive club in the audio world.

I always know when a review component has made a really positive impact on me, because I miss it when it has to be removed and returned to its owner. When the time came to return my system to its pre Ultra Silver II configuration I really missed that open window into the music that had so drawn me in. Not that my system sounded ‘broken’, but because I knew that it was capable of so much more.”
